Private German conversation sessions
Are you looking to practise your spoken German while on maternity or parental leave? Or maybe you're a stay-at-home parent looking to improve your conversational confidence? I offer in-person, private conversation sessions focused around day-to-day family life, tailored to your specific needs.
Following on from the success of the group conversation courses, I am now also offering private sessions that can be booked as standalone hours or in bundles of four. They are a great option for parents who have already completed the group course and want to practise more intensively, or for new parents who are unable to make the course. I'm also happy to offer these sessions to expectant mothers and stay-at-home parents who wish to improve their spoken German. See below for more details on the who, what, where, when!

How are the sessions structured?
Each session is 60 minutes long. You can book either a one-off session, or a bundle of four. All sessions are in-person to more closely reflect real-life, natural conversation, and to get you (both) out of those four walls!

Where are the sessions held?
Generally in the centre / east of Munich. The specific location is flexible, depending on where you're based. In the warmer months, I much prefer a picnic blanket in a park and find this works well for little ones. If the weather isn't on our side, I have a few quieter, baby-friendly cafes up my sleeve.

When are the sessions held?
Dates and times are agreed on an individual basis, but generally no earlier than 9am and no later than 3pm. This flexibility allows us to work around appointments and holidays, and time the sessions around naps and feeds.

What happens if I miss a session?
Booked sessions generally can't be refunded. If there is the scope to reschedule a session due to illness and I'm made aware of this at least 24 hours in advance, I will do my best to rearrange it.

What if my child cries or needs attention?
Then they are a perfectly normal baby! We will give them all the attention they need, in German!

Do I need to buy a specific textbook?
No. Sessions focus primarily on speaking. I guide the conversation, provide prompts and offer relevant vocabulary. I'm also happy to go over grammar points if there are specific elements that need a little more attention.

What should I bring to the session?
A notepad and pen for jotting down useful vocab that crops up during the session. Also a bottle of water – there's much talking to be done!
